Employee - Employer Relationship
Today, the business environment is changing rapidly as it is possible to replace every aspect of a business, including its structure, technology, and processes, as a result of technological advancements. But, when we consider Humans, it contains unique qualities such as creativity and originality, which cannot be simply replicated by a source. People are seen as an important asset that may provide organizations with a long-term competitive advantage. With this perspective, a number of concepts that directed the personnel and industrial relations fields for most of the 20th century have either forgotten their original significance or have been replaced by new ideas.
The term “employee relations” is a buzz word used in recent years indicating a particular human resource topic. You would also be finding the term “Industrial relations” in more common use before this.
What is employee relation all about? As the name implies, it is the relationship that exists between an employer and its employees. On the other hand, employee relations are more about building a sense of togetherness at work. It is also about making sure that employers and employees get along well and have good interactions. As it core, it should improving communication at work or taking care of the mental, physical, and emotional health of employees. The primary objective of employee relations is to promote a harmonious work environment where employees are content, motivated, and committed to the organization.
On other side, the term also could apply to ideas, strategies, and directives intended to uphold the rights and interests of workers. Regardless of strategy, the human resources division of a business usually manages employee interactions.
Organizations cannot perform better and achieve their objectives if there is a poor relationship between employees and employers, therefore it is very important for managers to create and maintain good relationships with their employees. Effective employee and management relationships are vital to the workplace whether at the time of recruitment, during an employee’s tenure or at the time of separation. Good employer-employee relations are essential to the organization because it inspires employees to work better and produce more results. A factor such as job satisfaction is achieved when there is a great working relationship between labor and management. This means your organization has less staff turnover rate where you don’t need to keep recruiting and replacing employees.
Finally, effective employee
relations can improve your overall organizational performance. With a happy
staff, your company’s productivity should be at an all-time high.
